Toyota Tsusho Corporation ("Toyota Tsusho") established a representative office in the Republic of Tunisia in October 2021.

Upholding one of its Key Sustainability Issues (Materiality), "grow with developing countries, including those in Africa, and endeavor to resolve social issues through business operations," Toyota Tsusho is promoting the African Growth Strategy as a focus area in its Mid-Term Business Plan.

Currently, a total of approximately 21,000 employees in 54 African countries are developing a diverse range of businesses in the four business fields of Mobility, Healthcare, Consumer and Infrastructure. The Toyota Tsusho Group is undertaking local infrastructure development, industrial development, job creation, and other measures to resolve social issues through business operations in Africa.

Tunisia, the host country for the Eighth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD8) scheduled for 2022, is expected to further develop its economy. Toyota Tsusho will work toward creating new businesses in Tunisia as the base of the newly established representative office.
