We would like to express our heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by the devastating earthquake that struck Morocco on September 8, 2023.

Toyota Group began full-scale sales efforts of vehicles through Toyota du Maroc, S.A.R.L. in the 1990s, and today has customers who rely on Toyota vehicles as an indispensable means of transportation in their daily lives.

As a country that also experiences earthquakes, we at Toyota in Japan understand the shock and pain of the sudden loss they bring, and are deeply saddened by the devastation and hardships of the local people working to overcome their loss and return to daily life even as they mourn.

To support the relief effort, Toyota Tsusho Corporation, together with Toyota Motor Corporation, Toyota South Africa Motors, Toyota Motor Europe, and others involved in Toyota Africa-related business are coming together in a One Toyota Africa response. A total of $75,000 US dollars (approx. 11 million yen) is being donated to the Red Cross/International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and others to provide emergency relief in affected areas.

In addition, Toyota Tsusho Group affiliates MAPHAR S.A and CFAO MOTORS MAROC S.A, that operate in Morocco, will also be taking prompt action to meet local needs, such as by supplying emergency medical and sanitary supplies, and lending construction vehicles free of charge for the removal of debris.
