Completion Ceremony Held at Ehime Prefecture's First Wood Biomass Power Plant

Toyota Tsusho Corporation announces that a completion ceremony was held today for Matsuyama Biomass Power Plant, the first wood biomass power plant in Ehime Prefecture. The power plant is operated by Ehime Forest Generation, LLC, a subsidiary of Toyota Tsusho Group company Ene-Vision Co., Ltd. established in January 2015.
This is Ene-Vision's second biomass power plant in Japan, following the construction of Gotsu Biomass Power Plant in Shimane Prefecture, which began commercial operation in July 2015. Both plants utilize the feed-in-tariff (FIT) system for renewable energy production.
The Matsuyama Biomass Power Plant will use solely wood biomass for fuel, with plans to generate 12.5MW of power starting in January 2018. The electricity generated by the plant will be sold to local retail power companies.
