Toyota Tsusho Acquires 20% Stake in PPES North American Subsidiary
Strengthening Technical Support Structure and Business Foundation for Automotive Batteries in North America

Prime Planet Energy & Solutions, Inc. ("PPES") and Toyota Tsusho Corporation ("Toyota Tsusho") announced that Toyota Tsusho, through its U.S. subsidiary Toyota Tsusho America, Inc., has acquired a 20% stake in Prime Planet Energy & Solutions North America, Inc. ("PPESNA"), the North American subsidiary of PPES, on March 31.
PPESNA was established in September 2025* to further advance local technical support and improve response efficiency for PPES's customers and the Toyota Group's battery business in North America*. In addition, Toyota Tsusho, through its U.S. subsidiary, has invested in Toyota Battery Manufacturing, North Carolina ("TBMNC"), a battery manufacturing company established by Toyota Motor Corporation in the state of North Carolina in the United States. Through this involvement, Toyota Tsusho contributes to building the foundation for stable battery production, including by developing a supply chain that spans everything from the procurement of production equipment, materials, and components needed for battery manufacturing to recycling.
This investment in PPESNA aims to further strengthen PPESNA's technical support structure and business foundation by leveraging Toyota Tsusho's operational expertise cultivated in North America, its knowledge of the battery supply chain, and its collaboration with Toyota Group companies including TBMNC.
By combining the strengths of both companies, PPES and Toyota Tsusho will contribute to further growth and strengthening the competitiveness of the battery business of customers in North America, including the Toyota Group.
