Toyota Tsusho Corporation ("Toyota Tsusho") announced today that TOYOTA TSUSHO MANUFACTURING GHANA CO. LIMITED ("TTMG"), which falls under its subsidiary CFAO SAS ("CFAO"), has acquired the Toyota and Hino distributor business from TOYOTA GHANA LIMITED COMPANY ("TGLC") on December 31, 2025 in the Republic of Ghana ("Ghana").

Toyota Tsusho is promoting four business domains in Africa: mobility, green infrastructure, healthcare, and consumer. The mobility business operates in all 54 African countries, and Toyota automotive distributors directly operated by the Toyota Tsusho Group have been established in 35 of these countries, mainly in the sub-Saharan region.

Meanwhile, in Ghana, TGLC—which has no capital ties to the Toyota Tsusho Group—serves as the distributor for Toyota and Hino, while CFAO MOBILITY GHANA, a distributor directly operated by the Toyota Tsusho Group, has handled multiple brands other than Toyota and Hino.

This business acquisition aims to acquire Toyota and Hino distributor business directly operated by the Toyota Tsusho Group in Ghana and to develop the mobility value chain. Going forward, Toyota Tsusho will provide a safe and secure automotive use environment in Ghana as well, consistent with the ones the Toyota Tsusho Group has developed across African countries, including in after-sales service and the insurance business.

TTMG, which will take over the distributor business, currently handles the assembly of Toyota and Suzuki vehicles sold in Ghana (SKD production*). Going forward, it will also gain new sales functions as the point of contact with customers, taking on both manufacturing and sales responsibilities.

*SKD: Stands for Semi Knock Down. A vehicle assembly method where the body is imported in a welded and painted state, and major components are assembled on to the body and chassis.

With the acquisition of the Toyota and Hino distributor business in Ghana, this marks the 36^th country where a Toyota distributor is being directly operated by the Toyota Tsusho Group. This further strengthens Toyota Tsusho’s multilateral development in Africa, enabling more flexible vehicle inventory management, improved logistics, and enhanced sales to governments and international organizations.

Going forward, Toyota Tsusho will also explore optimizing sales across Ghana, including collaboration with CFAO MOBILITY GHANA.
