Toyota Tsusho Corporation ("Toyota Tsusho") acquired additional shares of Carpaydiem Co., Ltd. (hereafter, "Carpaydiem") in February 2023.

Toyota Tsusho and Carpaydiem entered into a capital and business alliance in 2020 with the aim of collaborating in the online export and sales of used cars. In order to further promote collaborations across operations, Toyota Tsusho made an additional investment and made Carpaydiem a subsidiary.

Carpaydiem has been expanding the online business, in which Japanese used cars are exported overseas and sold to more than 100 countries around the world, mainly countries in Africa. Combining Toyota Tsusho's overseas service network, including after-sales services in the automotive business, with Carpaydiem's digital marketing and system development capabilities in the used car market, enables the whole Toyota Tsusho Group to increase the used car online export and sales business operations.

The Toyota Tsusho Group will contribute to the creation of a safe and comfortable mobility society by providing customers around the world with a safe and secure "automotive life" in the used car market centered on Africa, where demand is expected to continue to increase.
