Section 4 The Machinery, Energy & Project Division1 Initiatives in Three Business DomainsThe Machinery, Energy & Project Division hadexpanded business in line with the customer firstprinciple in each of its business domains: machinery,electric power, energy and plants.In the machinery business, Toyota Tsusho provideda full range of mechanical engineering services andconsistent support capabilities, from prototype assistancethrough after-sales service, to contribute to buildingcustomers’production systems. In the electric powerbusiness, Toyota Tsusho increased business mainly inthe wind and solar power generation business. Throughliberalization of the electric power business aroundthe world, Toyota Tsusho responded to demand forrenewable energy. In the energy and plants business,Toyota Tsusho handled efficient and stable procurement,transport, supply, and sale of coal, oil, LNG, biomass,and other fuels to meet the needs of customers in supplysource and demand countries. In addition, it responded tovarious types of infrastructure development and played???????the important role of project organizer in launching and????????????????completing projects in emerging countries, mainly inSoutheast Asia and the Middle East.2 Expansion of Engineering Services??Since the year 2000, Toyota ??????Tsusho has continuallyimproved and expanded its engineering services intandem with TMC and Toyota Group companies’expansions in Japan and abroad. In addition to????procurement and sales of various ????????types of machinery and???equipment, Toyota Tsusho ???????started supporting the designand mass production of prototypes, plans and proposals,technology development, quality control, efficient?????????????????????logistics, installation, maintenance, repairs, and aftersalesservice, working together with related companieswithin the Toyota Group to offer total support and aid inbuildingproductionsystemsforcustomers.3 Founding and Reorganizing MachineryAffiliatesTo respond to customer business expansion, ToyotaTsusho established and reorganized affiliate companies tobuild a value chain that would meet its customers’needs.Toyotsu Engineering merged with Tomen TechnicalSolutions in 2007 to become TEMCO, and ToyotsuMachinery Corp. was established in 2009 through ajoint venture between TEMCO and Toyota Tsusho. In2002, ENE-VISION was created as an energy systemengineering company, and Toyotsu Techno Proto Co.,Ltd., was formed in 2006 to respond to the need forprototype parts and spare parts.Year 2010 saw a reorganization of affiliates centeredon TEMCO and Toyotsu Techno Proto and the formationof Toyotsu Machinery to focus primarily on projectmanagement and of Toyotsu Techno to handle mainlymanufacturing. Tokiwa Engineering became a ToyotsuGroup company in 2012 and Gifu Seiki Kogyo in2013, with the goal of coordinating with each other tostrengthen services. In 2018, Toyotsu Techno and TokiwaEngineering merged to form Toyotsu Tec Corp.Meanwhile, in 1997 Industrial Tech Services, Inc.(ITS), was formed in the U.S. and Tianjin ToyotsuAutomotive Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (TAE),in 2003 and Guangzhou Toyotsu Automotive EquipmentCo., Ltd.
