New Authorized Toyota Distributor Established in Ecuador - Business Operation Starts
2007-05-28
Toyota Tsusho Corporation (Headquarters: Nagoya; President: Junzo Shimizu) established a new authorized Toyota distributor (hereinafter referred to as the ?new company?) on March 27, 2007, which started business operations in May, through a joint venture with local capital investors in the South American nation of Ecuador.
1. Background of new company establishment
Toyota Tsusho began transactions with local Toyota distributors in Ecuador in 1964. There has been more than one local distributor in Ecuador and together with these individual distributors we have been striving to implement nationwide strategies and improve efficiency by integrating the business operations of these distributors.
On the other hand, the benefits for these local distributors, as Toyota Tsusho takes part in the management of the new unified distributor, signify synergy effects resulting from an enhanced financial standing and sales organization. For these reasons the new company was established through a joint venture entered into by Toyota Tsusho and two local distributors. These two pre-existing distributors will continue to retail Toyota vehicles as dealers of the new company to help expand the sales network.
