Toyota Tsusho Corporation (hereinafter referred to as *Toyota Tsusho*; Headquarters: Nagoya City; President: Junzo Shimizu) established *Dalian Fenghe Foodstuffs Co., Ltd.,* in Dalian, China to engage in the business of processing and selling frozen foods, primarily cooked meat. The company has begun exporting its products to Japan.
Dalian Fenghe Foodstuffs Co., Ltd., inherited authorization issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to Dalian Karin Foodstuffs Co., Ltd., which is a certified production facility, as the business involves the export to Japan of cooked and processed food products using antiodactyl edible meats, such as the meat of cattle and pork as raw materials and commenced exporting products to Japan.
The purpose of the business is to focus on the cooked and prepared food product import market in Japan, which has roughly doubled in size over the past five years and to convert the nature of the business from one of a raw material importing business, suffering from stagnated growth, to a food processing business. For this reason, the ample labor force in China and existing raw materials procurement routes will be utilized to provide high value added products to customers. The products handled will include yum cha products, such as dumplings and dim sum, as well as prepared meat dishes, such as stewed pork and roasted pork fillets. 100% of the products are currently destined for export to Japan.
Sale of these products in the Chinese market, aside from exports to Japan, is planned for the future. The targeted combined amount of sales for fiscal 2007 is currently being set at JY3 billion.
