Groundbreaking Ceremony to be Held for Logistics Equipments Manufacturing and Sales Company Established in Guangzhou, China

In April this year, Toyota Tsusho Corporation (Headquarters: Nagoya City; President: Masaaki Furukawa; hereinafter referred to as *Toyota Tsusho*), together with KIMURA UNITY Company Limited (Headquarters: Nagoya City; President: Yukio Kimura; hereinafter referred to as *KIMURA UNITY*), Sanko Company Limited (Headquarters: Mizuho City, Gifu Prefecture; President: Kohei Goto; hereinafter referred to as *Sanko*) and Guangzhou Guangqi Industrial Development Company Limited (Headquarters: Guangzhou, China; CEO: Ding Bao Shan;hereinafter referred to as ?Guangqi?), jointly established a company (hereinafter referred to as the *new Company*) for the purpose of manufacturing and selling logistics equipments in Guangzhou, China. The groundbreaking ceremony for the manufacturing plant of the new company will be held in the middle of June.
1. Background of establishment
Toyota Tsusho and KIMURA UNITY started a logistics business in Argentina in 1997 and in Brazil in 1998. Since then the two companies have deepened their collaborative relationship, resulting in the joint development of various logistical service,businesses,primarily overseas, such as in Thailand in 2002 and in Mexico in 2004.
Further, Toyota Tsusho and Sanko,the largest plastic logistics equipments company in Japan, have a long standing relationship dealing with returnable plastic containers for automotive parts and components. There is an extremely close relationship with the business relating to the Toyota Group, owing to the utilization of technology from Sanko. Collaboration on a full-scale was launched on the occasion of the overseas business expansion by the Toyota Group.
2. Roles of each company
* Toyota Tsusho:Domestic and overseas sales, information provision
* KIMURA UNITY:Manufacturing of steel pallets
* Sanko:Manufacturing of returnable plastic containers and pallets
* Guangzhou Guangqi:Sales and support for the automobile industry in the Huanan District of China
The four companies have established the new company, and according to their respective role, they will be jointly conducting the business of manufacturing, selling and servicing logistics equipments (steel pallets, returnable plastic containers and pallets, etc.) to contribute to the convenience of the automobile manufacturers. The new company will be conducting sales both in China and overseas, aiming for a sales turnover of JY1.5 billion by their third year of operation.
