Wind Farms Have Reached the 1,000MW Mark in Installed Capacity

2005-01-19

Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation has promoted wind farms all over the world under its principle of being a key player in providing viable energy solutions in this changing global climate. Toward the end of December 2004, Eurus Energy Holdings joined the 60MW wind farm Oasis Project in California, increasing its total installed capacity to 1,019MW.

The Oasis Project was originally promoted by Enesco, a wind power developer related to French national power company, EDF. The operation commenced in the end of last month, prospecting the annual electricity sales of one billion Japanese yen. Adjacent to this project, Eurus Energy Holdings has already been operating the 180MW wind farm equipped with the power-transmission line.

Since 1987 when the first 5MW pilot wind plant was put into operation in California, Eurus Energy Holdings has developed 290MW of capacity in the U.S.A., 550MW in Europe (U.K., Spain and Italy) and 180MW in Japan, making the company the largest wind power developer in Japan and one of the world leaders in the field.

The off shore wind farm projects in U.K. are under planning to be materialized by 2006. The company's global installed capacity in total will be expanded to 1,500MW in two years.
