Tomen Receives Order for Fire Engines and Rescue Vehicles from New Bangkok International Airport Co., Ltd.(NBIA)

Tomen Corporation and two of its local subsidiaries, Tomen (Thailand), Ltd. and Tomen Enterprise (Bangkok) Ltd. received an order for 15 fire engines and 8 rescue vehicles, for a total of 23 vehicles, in a joint project from the New Bangkok International Airport Co., Ltd (NBIA). Tomen signed an agreement with the airport on 15 October, 2004. The contract is valued at 1.4 billion JPY. Delivery date is August 2005.

The NBIA was established as a joint corporation through financing from the Airports of Thailand Public Company Ltd. and the Thailand Ministry of Finance. The corporation will manage and operate the Second Bangkok International Airport, scheduled to begin operations in September 2005. The existing Bangkok International Airport has over 25 million users annually. It is one of the biggest airport in Asia. The new airport will be the biggest international hub airport in Asia.

Tomen Group will deliver the latest model fire engines and rescue vehicles that meet the highest standard by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). These vehicles will be used for accidents and emergency responses when airplanes arrive and depart from the new airport.

A loan extension has been granted by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). An agreement between the JBIC and NBIA has already made period of 1996 to 2002 for a total of 118,900 million JPY.
