Processing, Logistics, and Storage Functions to Satisfy the Needs of Both Users and Suppliers
The greatest feature of Toyota Tsusho's metals business is its ability to provide high-precision and high-quality operation functions to domestic and international manufacturing and processing companies. For instance, at Toyota Steel Center Co., Ltd, which plays a key role in the domestic steel sheet business, information is shared with suppliers and users in order to offer processing, logistics and storage functions that suit each production requirement. In the nonferrous field, we conduct our businesses in North America, Europe, and Asia supplying aluminum materials in melted form, rather than the more common ingots. This achieves energy savings and significant cost reductions, while also reducing environmental impact.
Recycling Business Aimed at Reducing Environmental Impact
As a corporation deeply involved in the production and sales of automobiles, we have been engaged in the ELV* recycling business for over 30 years with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of used automobiles. In addition to scrap metal recycling that utilizes our nationwide collection network, we also conduct a comprehensive recycling business by developing recycling technology through joint efforts with Toyota Motor Corporation.
In accordance with the enactment of the End-of-Life Vehicle Recycling Law in January 2005, appropriate processing/recycling of ASR* has now become a requirement for automobile manufacturers and importers. Toyotsu Recycle Corporation, with its proven track record and expertise gained over long years of experience in this area, has been processing and recycling ASR for Toyota Motor Corporation and Honda Motor Company. Currently, the company is working towards achieving target ASR recycle rates, which are being gradually increased, and is establishing an efficient recycling system.
