The Produce & Foodstuffs Division handles a broad range of food products such as food ingredients and prepared frozen foods, as well as products including livestock feeds, oils/fats, rice, wheat, raw sugar and products processed from such materials.
Our main strength can be seen in its grain-processing facilities, which are centered on 4 grain silos located in Japan. These silos are equipped with docks for large vessels and dedicated supply lines to formula feed manufacturers inland, we are among the biggest in the country in terms of handling capacity.
In addition to developing a highly efficient sales route of importing wheat from the U.S. and exporting flour to China and Southeast Asia, Toyota Tsusho is also an importer of bean sprouts, sesame seeds and buckwheat. We are proud of being one of the largest handlers, by volume.
In the foodstuff business, Toyota Tsusho has a proposal-oriented business model geared to create high-value-added products such as supplying semi-finished foodstuffs processed at our overseas bases. Furthermore, Toyota Tsusho is working on enhancing its food safety management system. As part of this effort, a Food Safety Promotion Team was established within the Division and all our food safety management functions, including traceability, are being further upgraded.
