Toyota Tsusho's strength lies in the grains business centered on 4 grain silos that are continuously being enhanced and expanded. In addition to our regular grains business, we are strengthening our competitive edge further by establishing a comprehensive system that covers development of special-purpose grains, contractual cultivation and classification of imports to Japan.
Enhancing Processing/Manufacturing Functions in the Foodstuffs Business
In addition to our trading function that enables optimal procurement of safe and high quality foodstuffs from around the globe, Toyota Tsusho is developing various food processing businesses to respond to the diversifying needs of its customers. In the foodstuff business, the company's processing/manufacturing functions in China were strengthened through alliances with local companies, and business activities aimed towards future sales within the Chinese market are also being carried out. This includes the establishment of sesame seed processing business in Qingdao, processed and frozen food business in Dalian, prepared frozen food businesses in Laiyang and Guangzhou, and bread manufacturing business in Beijing.
