Our grain trading business centered on four grain silos in Japan is our main strength, and we remain committed to bolstering and expending this business. Determined to further strengthen our competitiveness, we am building an integrated structure that encompasses dealing in grain for special applications, contracting cultivation in grain-producing regions and applying our own stringent identity Preserved (IP) Handling Method in addition to carrying out our ordinary grain Wing business.
Strengthening Processing and Manufacturing Functions in Foodstuffs Operations
Besides our trading functions of procuring safe and high-quality foodstuffs from optimum locations worldwide, we develop an assortment of food processing businesses in Japan and overseas as part of efforts to respond to diverse needs. In foodstuffs, we are moving decisively to strengthen our food processing and manufacturing functions in China, working together with local companies, as we carry out business activities with a view toward future sales in the China market. This includes starting up a sesame processing business in Qingdao, a processed and frozen prepared food business in Dalian, prepared frozen food businesses in Laiyang and Guangzhou and bread manufacturing business in Beijing.
