Toyota Tsusho procures and supplies synthetic resins, chemical products and basic energy resources such as petroleum and coal from around the world to meet the specific needs of customers from both upstream and downstream industries.
In the chemical and synthetic resin field, Toyota Tsusho is aiming for greater added value through securing blue-chip supply sources, enhancing its tank operations in China and Southeast Asia, and business operations utilizing our overseas network. We are also undertaking new business initiatives such as compound materials for automobile and consumer electronics, as well as components and battery materials for hybrid vehicles.
In the energy plant field, we are involved in the importation of crude oil from the Middle East, and development of coalmines in Australia in order to secure a stable supply of resources and energy in the upstream area. Our expertise in project development gained through experiences from the plant business is also being utilized to further enhance our businesses in the midstream (refining/ transport) and downstream (wholesale/retail electricity) areas. In the anticipated field of clean energy, Toyota Tsusho is actively involved in the development of environmentally friendly wind power and natural gas businesses domestically and internationally.
